Civilisation, version depending on the grunt of your laptop. You do however need an internet connection to play Civ IV (as I discovered the hard way whilst trying to kill time sat in a crappy motel in Virginia ) "Cake or death!"

Did you edit the one in the main EVE folder or the one in Documents and Settings\*User Name*\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\Settings? It's the latter one you need to do to get the advanced settings back.
